2. Policy Statement We prioritise the welfare and interests of children in all circumstances. Our policy ensures a positive, enjoyable, and safe sporting experience for children of all backgrounds and abilities, safeguarding them against all forms of abuse.

3. Scope of Policy This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, and participants involved in Kickoff Events. It is aligned with the broader goals of ensuring safety and promoting the welfare of children under the age of 18, as defined by law.

4. Reporting Safeguarding/Welfare Concerns

• Immediate Action: If you are concerned about a child’s welfare, immediate action is required—remaining inactive is not an option. It’s crucial to stay calm, reassure any present child that they are not at fault, but avoid promises about confidentiality or outcomes.
• Reporting Procedures: All safeguarding concerns must be reported to the designated contact at Kickoff Events. For serious issues, such as potential abuse, the designated safeguarding lead should be contacted immediately, followed by the police or local social services.

5. Safeguarding Practices
